Busted!

So a week ago Monday my friend Sandy and I went to see Neil Diamond! This was my fourth Neil experience, but it was Sandy's first time. It was awesome! He kicked off the concert with "Holly Holy". Then he did some more oldies, and I was snapping pictures...And then an usher came over to our row shining a flashlight at all of us looking for the camera. Oops. After some confusion, I finally told her it was me and she made me come out and was all nasty "You were all told no cameras are allowed." And I just said, "Well, yeah, I understand." So since I wasn't nasty to her she calmed down and got nicer. She said that Neil is very particular about that rule. So I had to check my camera in at customer service. They didn't erase my pictures, but out of respect for Neil I am not posting any that I took during the concert. Frankly, they didn't turn out all that great anyway. We had good seats, but they were pretty far away. You can see someone on stage, but unless you know it's Neil, you wouldn't know it was him.

When I walked back to the seating area he was rockin' out on "Crunch Granola Suite" which made me sad because that's one of my rockin' tunes. So I stood there in the aisle dancing. When that was over I squeezed my way back to my seat and explained to Sandy what happened. Then we kept on dancing and singing :) He did a bunch of newer stuff, and he ended the set with one of my favorite new ones, which is perfect to finish a concert with--"Hell Yeah".

But of course Neil wouldn't leave us without an encore! He went off just long enough to change his shirt into something a little more sparkly and went right into "America" and finished with "Brother Love's..." It was another kick ass performance my my man Neil. I'm telling you, if you haven't gone to see him in concert, you should. If you aren't familiar with Neil, become familiar with him. If nothing else, go watch "Saving Silverman". You won't regret it.
