Oh, wow

American Idol season 8 has begun! I'm watching the auditions from Kansas City this evening. So far they've actually had more yesses than nos since I've started watching. I came in a half hour into it though. And it probably won't make me watch it next week. I really don't like the auditions. I don't even usually watch Hollywood week. We'll see how I'm feeling in upcoming weeks.

Over the last five years I've enjoyed playing "Name That Tune" with our clock tower on campus. I've heard such classic clock tower fare as "Forever Young", "Yellow Submarine", "Where Everybody Knows Your Name", "Somewhere Out There", and "Flashdance". The newest song in the rotation is...."Islands in the Stream".

I watched part of George Bush's last press conference yesterday, and got to hear him say on live television that the press has sometimes "Misunderestimated" him. Not just underestimated. MIS-underestimated.
