OK, I know I said I wasn't going to keep a running commentary until the top 12, but I have to make some comments anyway.
So Simon keeps up his homophobia, calling the acapella guy "girly" and unilaterally hating the Wham! song (which, granted, wasn't great, but the vocals were fine. He just didn't put any personality in it at all) and hating our little gay boy Danny even though that was an AWESOME performance. Loved it. I was so hoping that when he was saying he fell down the stairs in front of his "crushes" that he'd slip a "he" in there, but alas, he did not. I'll keep watching and hoping.
And the one who did the Celine Dion song? One of the 8 Davids in the competition? Am I wrong, or was that song clearly from the late 90's? This is 80's week. Was that a remake?
I hate these embarrassing moments things. Really, do I need to know you had a booger in your nose for your pictures? TMI.
It's good that it was pointed out to Simon that he looked like an idiot with that moose thing, but let's give it a rest.
Randy, "Don't You Forget About Me" was by Simple Minds, not INXS. Michael Hutchence did not sing that song.
OK, I'll stop for tonight. If I watch the women tomorrow, you'll hear from me again. Here's a taste:
OK people. They are not "girls". You don't call the men "boys". If you're not going to call them women, at least have the decency to call them "ladies". Yes, some of them are technically girls because they aren't 18. But I don't think they are all under 18. Sexist homophobics running this thing. Yet I still can't stop watching...
