It's finally official (OK, it was official on Tuesday, but I'm a busy girl!): I will be the Vaselakos RHD at Missouri Western State University. Yup, it's true. After all that, I'm only moving about a half a block away. I moved into my new office this week. While it is completely amazing in that it has ample space for all of my junk and it has an L desk and it has a wall of windows, I don't like it yet. It's too isolated and lonely. I'm used to having an office in the central office area of the department, where all the action is (it's also where the main front desk is and where our c-store and smoothie/coffee place is). Now I have an actual building with interior hallways and lounges and a lobby, and my office is there. And I'm alone. Very very alone.
And congrats to Laura and Steve! I now have an unofficial nephew to spoil! I want to visit soon. I haven't seen them in a million years. I'm not sure I saw Laura while she was pregnant at all. Oh, yeah i did, for about two hours. I saw Evie then too. She's probably not only out of diapers but reading and writing and doing basic math equations by now. They grow so fast.
I have to do laundry this weekend. I have a "laundry situation". I am without a washer and dryer for the next month or so, so I actually have to scrounge some quarters. How awful is that? Not that I have to buy laundry, but that I'm feeling like I've stepped down in life. I must remember that there are actually some people who have to take their laundry away to a laundromat! Heck, many millions of people all over the world do laundry in dirty rivers over rocks! You gotta put everything in perspective sometimes.
