Darn it, I just remembered I have forgotten to do my shoulder exercises. So I shall have to remember to keep reminding myself to do that when I am done with this post.
So I continue to be busier than a bee, but it is really starting to slow down (knocking on wood here, please do the same for me). I have had very little time during the week to do anything at all besides work. It's really sad. But the weekend before last I got to take a carload of crap, along with Tyler, home for a weekend. My bedroom is filling up again. But I was so stressed out up to the point of my trip I didn't even bother with looking nice or anything. I shopped a little, I played with my niece a little, visited family members a little. But my trips home are always so hectic, and sometimes stressful themselves, that I don't fully feel rested and relaxed after them. I wanted to take almost a week for my next trip home, but work has wormed itself into my plans and thwarted them. But I'm looking forward to it anyway.
This past weekend was OK. I was on duty, and I had a presentation to prepare for work, so I spent a good part of Saturday in the office. But then the rest of the time I was able to continue the apartment organization and cleaning process. I'm beginning to think that I will never be done organizing and cleaning this apartment. Sadly my plan to escape for a day this coming weekend to visit my friend and babies in Kansas has changed and I don't get to go. However, I might possibly get to finish doing stuff in my apartment. Maybe. But I have to iron clothes too.
Midnight gave me a good scare last week. The night before Tyler and I left for home he threw up. Animals do that from time to time, so I didn't think much of it. But while I was gone he didn't eat much, and when I got home I found a bunch of piles of vomit all over the place. He threw up again on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. He was still acting OK, not totally like himself but not like he was real sick. I finally got to break away from work to take him to the vet on Wednesday, and they weren't sure what was wrong. They gave me some soft food and antibiotics to try to give him and told me to get a stool sample. I did that on Thursday, but he threw up again on Thursday, and he refused to eat. So I took in the sample, and they told me to bring him back in. I brought him in and they gave him an anti-vomiting shot and a shot of antibiotics. On Friday he didn't vomit, but he started to get lethargic, because he was still not eating. He pretty much didn't move all day or all night. Saturday was more of the same. I was real worried, but then he started perking up on Saturday night, and by Monday he was totally back to normal. I still have no idea what was wrong with him, but I'm glad he's better.
But poor Tyler is now not completely well. I took him to be groomed on Friday and he has a bunch of dry crusty spots on his skin. And then on Monday I noticed he was shaking his head a lot, so I looked in his ear and it was awful! The poor thing, I had been so focused on Midnight that I forgot to keep tabs on Tyler's ear. I'm such a terrible mommy. I cleaned it and have started antibiotics, but he's going to have to go to the vet tomorrow to check it and check those skin spots. Mom keeps saying he has the mange, but I don't think that's quite it :)
I started physical therapy for my shoulder finally. It's been a couple of weeks now, and I think I might be getting better! I go three times a week and I do exercises at home (when I remember and have time, but I've been doing them at least once a day), and yesterday I noticed it didnt hurt as bad to reach over and turn off my alarm clock. It didn't seem as painful in general, either. This makes me very happy, because it was getting to the point where I almost can't take it anymore.
Gracie is getting very big, and she is talking all the time. I don't really know what she is saying for the most part, but that's OK. My favorite story from the weekend was when she ran over to the dog bowl and splatted water everywhere. She looked at her hands, then the floor, and said, clear as day, "Oh Shit!" I'm not kidding! She calls me "Bobbin", and she calls any animal she sees "Puppin". She especially likes that Tyler "Puppin". She fed him a lot of food. He now really likes that baby. She likes to tickle his face. She reaches out her fingers and says "gackle gackle gackle!" I love it. She is pretty sensitive to how other people are feeling, too. I got mad at Tyler because he was pulling a toy from Gracie's hand, and I looked over at her but I still had a mad face and voice, and she started sobbing. I felt TERRIBLE! So I had to hug her and tell her she was a good girl. She is a good girl. Lots of energy, and she's good exercise for me when I'm home!
I think that's about it on the update front. I've decided again that I need to get out more, so maybe there will be future posts that are a little more exciting for you :) But Residence Council held a "You-Tube-Athon" and I got to see some good Youtube clips I need to share, so you can be looking forward to those!
