American Idol Time!

Well, the Oscars are over, and I officially got 10 right, by what I predicted on my last blog. But I got another right after I heard all the nominated songs and made my pick during the ceremony. It was much more fun to watch the ceremony having seen a good chunk of the movies. I will be working harder next year to see movies well in advance, when they first start creating Oscar buzz. That way that last month will be spent watching the random surprise movies that no one predicted would be nominated for anything. Jen and Amy came and watched with me. They were good food wise. I was not. See the fatchick blog. But it was fun times :)

Now that the Oscars are over I shall start my American Idol watch! I only watch the first week of the audition shows because they are painful. The problem with that is that I typically miss the first week of the actual competition because I don't realize it's on. So I missed it last week, which was the first week of vote offs. Sorry about that. But I was busy watching movies, so I wouldn't have been able to watch anyway :) I won't stay on long enough to critique all of them tonight. I'll save those blogs for the top 12.

The guy with the accent was screechy and pitchy and he was bouncy. I don't like him. The guy with the dreadlocks needs to get rid of those dreads. They're awful and they don't look right on him. They don't match his singing style either. I like him though. I think he'll get boring though if he doesn't spice things up. Looks like I'll be on for another one, so I'll comment on him too. I like acapella. When he's done, he should do his cd that way. Good song choice. He reminds me of Orlando Bloom. Quite nice on the eyes. But he has a barbershop/acapella voice, so I'm not sure how long he'll be able to do this solo stuff and not get annoying on the ears.
